'Darfur must be saved'

One should thank Mr. Ken Shuler, Omaha, for his insightful article ‘Darfur must be saved’ in the Omaha World-Herald. Let us give praise to him for bringing this before us. This is also a passion of my. It is not the question of “ignorance” of what we see depicted on television news, motion pictures or reality.

Darfur, Sudan is not on President Bush’s agenda; he’ll only give a press release when his advisors suggest that he do so. Darfur requires world government intervention. Generally, the United States is reluctant to get involved militarily in Africa. Americans comes to the aid of people who look like the majority of them, however, the demographics are changing and the facts speak for themselves.

The reason why the U.S., the most powerful country, is standing by and watching the genocide could maybe a matter of subjective of race black v.s. white. I hope that this is not the views of the majority. If so, “ignorance” is an acceptable analogy of why the world watches and waits while tens of thousands. Shameful!
