Is The President Impeachable?
Unfortunately, I did not read Chris Peter’s article in the Omaha World-Herald. With all of the flings and arrows thrown at him by the Bush’s minions, I am sure that it is undeserving. In his defense, I want to add my opinion.
The United States Constitution protects, gives justice, and in extreme cases in law administrates punishment to does of us whom violate it laws. In this case, the President of the United States has (may or may not) violated the law and/or the trust of the American people i.e. misleading the nation into war about WMD, human rights of detainees, NSA domestic spying which have not been fully explain, etc.
Since post 9/11, I have closely followed the events by reading most of the reported information: new media, books, lectures and even politicians. To capsulate and put the chain of events into perspective, “connect the dots,” George W. Bush had a plan and set in motion a pre-empted war in Iraq immediately after his first election. September 11 was a pre-text to invade Iraq.
In hindsight, the facts are the facts, as we know them from investigative commission reports, other publications, and leak secret information. If President Bush broke the law according to the U.S. Constitution, then he should be impeachable. Ironically, I am only sorry to say that incompetence is not an impeachable offense.
