Open letter To: Francis Fukuyama

I have watched and listened to you on In Depth: BookTv C-Span2. I was very much impress with your intellect, views and opinions. In the past, I have only heard of you as the father of neon-conservatism (neo-con) movement which at the time for me labeling a negative point of view. Personally, I blame the war in Iraq on this mind set. However, watching and listening to you twice recently, my opinion of you have been positive discounting the other neo-con philosophy persuasion. I find myself agreeing with all that you said during the interview. Only I hope that the Bush Administration is listing to you too.

May I make a comment and ask a question please. Formal Secretary of State Colin Powell’ statement at the UN set the bases for the Iraq War: weapons of mass destruction, etc. In subsequent interviews with Secretary Powell he said (paraphrase), “He regret making that statement and that he will be judge in history as the one who made the case for war in Iraq.” He was the one person in the Bush Administration that I respected the most and that the Department of State not the Department of Defense should have had the responsibility for nation building in Iraq. My opinion it might have work. Do you agree and what is your opinion of Secretary Powell?

I am looking forward to reading your book “Democracy at a Crossroads” and your other writing. Thank you for your intellect and a person of reason.
