Bush vs. U.S. Supreme
The United States Supreme Court is becoming a political panacea for a U.S. Congress who has abrogated its powers. Presidents, past and present, have been trying for years to stack the court in ways in which to carryout their ideological legacy. President Bush did willingly accept the U.S. Supreme Court 5-4 decision to win the 2000 presidential election between himself and Vice-President Al Gore. Now he shows his inconsistency with the court 5-3 decision in the Hamdan’s case. This administration will attack any legal opinion that goes against them. The U.S. Supreme court is the last pillar and vestige of justice and protection of freedom in this country. If we (America) are going to be the beacon of democracy in the world, we cannot let political ideology tramper upon the United States Constitution.
