America Future Lost
On November 7, future America may loose the services of our brightest and up and coming political politicians: Michael Steels, Lt. Gov. (R-MD), Harold Ford, Jr., Cong., (D-TN), and of course, Barack Obama, Sen., (D-IL) all who has run the best and most effective campaign, charismatic, than any candidates in the country. My only reflections are: (a) Steels is running as a stealth republican in a blue state; (b) The negative ads against Ford is ambiguous at most and in the eyes of the beholder; and (c) Obama represent change, a generation change, for the future of America. His decision to run for president in 2008 will depend on victory or defeat for Ford in Tennessee, pundits said.
Will these promising individuals reach their gold of higher offices? If history is any barometer of success, they will loose their ambition for greater opportunities and a lost for us all comes Election Day. The underlining theme in all of these situations is racism. Only the voters will tell. America is a laboratory experiment of racial divide gone wrong. We have not had a Senator (from the South) from a different ethnic group since Reconstruction. Most other countries have had women as presidents and prime ministers elected to higher offices and look upon race as an ethnic issue not a color issue. Oh, did I forget to say that these men represent our flag, the true red, white and blue of America.
