Immigration Reform

How ironically can it be that the late President Ronald Reagan, the icon of the Republican Party, twenty years ago stood at the Brandenburg Gate in West Berlin, Germany and spoke these words “Mr. Gorbachev “tear down this wall” while the United States of America, the bulwark of democracy and the “shinning city on the hill,” is pushing to built 800 hundred miles of double barricades on our Southern borders with Mexico absurd. What happen to the motto on the Status of Liberty “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free?” To Migrants, those shinning lights become klieg-lights searching for its prey of the fleeing poor looking for a better life.

Many of us have some connection with immigrants in some fashion no exception. We need an immigration policy. We have to bring the millions of immigrants out of the shadows and fold them into society. If I was a congress person and had to cast a vote, this is what I purpose: (1) register all undocumented aliens in one year. (2) Registration number will be temporary and tax identification number (TIN) while their status is adjudicated, and (3) divide the total number by 3 (families count as 1); hold a lottery to passage to citizenship in: 4, 8 and 12 years (1/3, 1/3, 1/3) with one time extensive of 2 years
