The Role of Religion in Politic

In defense of Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Meet the Press, she was asked: "When does life begin?" (One can agree or disagree). Although the question was asked by the MTP moderator Tom Brokaw, it is rooted in the pro-life and religion right. The intolerance of the Christian right-wing and the role of religion in politic, I thought that we had already answer this question by the late President John F. Kennedy’s speech on his religion in 1960. “I do not speak for my church on public matter and the church does not speak for me.” The hypocrisy on the Republican Party on both issues is apparent. Their ultimate goal is to pack the U.S. Supreme Court with like minded justices and to overturn Roe-vs.-Wade and women rights to choose. When Sen. Barrack Obama, Democrat candidate, was asked: “When [does] a baby get human rights?" His response was "above my pay grade" referring faithfully to his God… and not some mortal being.
