Race Relation In Our Myth
Regarding your first hour discussion today: I see the world different then some of your callers. I beg the question: Why does the majority think they know what is good for the minority? If you want an expert on race relation, your first choice is to find a Caucasian profession to give their opinions on people of color. Many people who call radio talk-shows are clueless when it comes to the discussion of race.
Mr. Chip Maxwell: I have briefly listened to your radio talk show on Saturday morning. Today the overarching theme was race relations and I was compelled to respond. I do believe that you have a bias again people not of your group. You have a public platform that speaks to members of this group. You have a too dimensional view of issues; i.e. which may be good for talk radio but no basis in reality. Beneath your smooth demeanor, I see flaws. You mentioned that your two sons (which I assume adopted) are from Guatemala of dark complexion and had racial insults addressed to or at them. You didn’t explain it to my satisfaction. Also I am referring to the person who called Omaha South, inquiring about illegals residents attending school there. What sarcasm! You didn’t call him out on it. You and many of your colleges at KFAB are feasting upon fanning the premise of racial hatred. There are audiences out there in right-wing talk-radio-land that likes this junk.
This country is in crises mode for many factors socially and economically. The demography of the country is changing as well. The truth is white Americans have an underlining fear of losing power. Oh yes, they may want to hold onto their guns and religion but losing power is their greatest fear. There are many flags to point too, i.e. President Obama, Arizona SB-1070, Texas textbook issue, Virginia proclamation not mentioning slavery, Rand Paul’s views of history, the republican candidate of Kentucky, tea parties and our own local issues green cards and of cause Fremont, NE, etc. What do they all have in common...race. If you as an individual are going to use your platform as a voice of conscious then use it wisely to bring people together and not separate us further just as "a house divided against itself cannot stand" racism that separates us cannot be tolerated. I do apologize for prolonging this conversation. This is my therapy for today. Have a good day…thank you.
