Study weapons reports
In July of 2003, I posted the following articles in the Omaha World-herald (in part). In light of the first presidential debate and who knew what and when, this article require a reprint:
"Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD): Why do I concern myself about this subject? The United States of American is a great nation; however, I do not feel great about my country credibility and go it along attitude in the eyes of the world. I do not feel a sense of security which I have taken for granted a couple of years ago. We have been deceived and mislead by our government about WMD. However noble the cause for the war in Iraq but to take a country to war must be base on evidence of grave danger and truthfulness to the American people and the world at-large. Our insecurity toward terrorist attacks are no different then the Iraqs people insecurity about Saddam Hussein. Saddam Hussein poses no known imminent threat to me but John Ashcroft and the Patriot Act does. How do I come to grip with this emotionally?
I may be one of a few people who have read this stuff: (1) Iraqs Weapons of Mass Destruction by The Assessment of the British Government (which is very revealing), (2) The National Security Strategy of the United States of America, September 2002, signed by George W. Bush on September 17, 2002, and (3) Iraqs Weapons of Mass Destruction Programs, October, 2002, by the CIA. These three reports are alleged to be the final decision for going to war. I have concluded that if you analyze these reports in context. They are all propaganda to deceive and mislead. If one have patient to read them, these reports are chock full of allegations, innuendo and sprinkled with bits of facts. Maybe the final review ought to be put next to the Harry Potters book in the fiction section of the bookstore.
The U.S. Congress task is to find the truth and bring some sensibility to all of this; thats most important. They have the power and authority, but not the political will, to do so. How did we get from being respected to disrespectful? One should read the foreign press, in comparison with our, survey polls, and the people on the street in other lands. In retrospect, our country position in the world is unbelievable."
