Other nations are watching the United States aggressive preemption policy in Iraq and go it alone foreign policy i.e. China eyes on Taiwan, Russia Chechnya situation, etc. The U.S, may face an uncertain future in the decades to come. The risk of a possible major confrontation somewhere in the world is more likely than not.
