Iran is on a course to develop nuclear weapons. Others can debate the wisdom of Iran to possess weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Simply, possession of nuclear weapons has it own consequences for any power that have them: United States, Great Britain, France, Russia, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea, and of course, Israel. Will nuclear weapons be eliminated? It will probably not in our lifetime or the near future.
The real danger does not lie in the weapons or system alone. The danger is the radicalism fringe elements in societies who may one day have the power to unleash the destructive evil of WMD. It will take world leaders with extraordinary character, courage, and the ability to control, dismantle, and eventually eliminate these WMDs.
The world is in a transition bickering on the edge of uncertainty between evil, madness, and potential. What we do today will determine what will happen tomorrow. If not, the world will never be the same. For the sake of human civilization, I would hope that someone out there is listening to the cries of humanity.
