Overture To Our Adversaries
President Barrack Obama’s rapprochement toward Cuba is a positive development. Cuba has come finally to the realization that now is the time to change its relationship with the United States and Cuba while the current administration is in power. Its aging leaders will not outlive the current administration. Now is the time to grasp this olive branch if it wants to join the community of nations.
More so is our rapprochement to Iran and the Muslin’s world. President Obama said, “The United States is not and never be at war with Islam.” This is an understatement. These words should ring-out loud and clear both here at home and aboard to nullify the seed of hatred planted by the extreme religious right who advocates a third crusade.
The president’s key strategic is to show transparency on these hot buttons issues early in his administration, thus far his overture to our adversaries: Russia, Iran and Cuba have been fruitful.
