The Torture Memos

If it walk like a duck and quack like a duck, it is a duck! Torture is a violation of U.S. 18C and international law. Since the released of the so call torture memos regarding water-boarding and other allege abuses, it is clear that our government is in violation of its laws. It all is true; this abuse of power is worst then Watergate, Whitewater, etc. The president should not let this fester but go forward in whatever venue to reach the truth. It is obvious that politic is coloring the decision makers ability to get the facts. There is no putting the genie back into the bottle. What was true before is true now. The cover-up is worst then the crime.

Let’s not forget that we had a Nuremburg Trial during WWII. We had convicted and executed Japanese for the Bataan Death March in the Philippine. We have on trial the once president of Bosnia for war crimes. We have tried by proxy, convicted and hanged Saddam Hussein of Iraq. The former president of Peru was just sentence to 25 years in prison for his actions. The U.S. influence was behind most if not all of those events for exception of Peru. As the president said, we are a country of values or we’re not.

A retired Major General just gave the best answer to these changes of events which I agree fully, we should “own it” and move on.
