Shootings: Psychological Disorder

Dr. Janis Orlowski. Chief Medical Officer, Washington Hospital Center is right in her overviews and commentary on the shooting at the Navy Yard and gun violence in Washington, DC.  The nations has a sickness in its soul with these pass and present shooting in many cities.  The problems are not only guns in the wrong hands but mental illness as well.  We are at a crossroad; we not only need a conversation on guns, (respecting the 2nd Amendment),  we need a conversation on poverty, education, opportunity, race, etc, which are all factors contributing to the violence in our culture.  I’m frustrated!  Violence!  It's...it's a psychological disorder.   We have identify one problem mental illness not all. Now we have away forward to confront this malady before it destroy a generation of people needing help.  As simply as the problem appear to be; it’s as equally complex knowing the political will of our legislators. The voices and testimonials of love ones are not enough.  Therefore nothing will change until politicians in Congress show guts and brass to put the health of our country ahead of their political career and defy the gun lobbyist.
